Antioxidants are very special because they have been show to help neutralize the effects of molecules called "free radicals". Free radicals are known as highly unstable molecules that contribute to cellular aging. Your body produces free radicals following exposure to pollutants such as tobacco, radiation, and smog. They are also the by-products of various normal bodily processes, such as burning sugar for energy and metabolic detoxification. This makes them excellent anti-aging supplements.
